Description

Knowledge Transfer Network evening reception for investors, entrepreneurs and industry leaders at the New Designers exhibition.

Innovation is a collaborative activity, at its best when it brings together designers and technologists, investors and entrepreneurs. The New Designers exhibition showcases over 3,000 of the most promising graduates from Britain’s leading design courses and attracts over 18,000 visitors. This year KTN is helping to expose the UK’s amazing young talent to a broader mix of industrialists, entrepreneurs and investors.

With the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS) reporting that every £1 invested in design provides UK businesses with an average return of £25, this is a great opportunity for you to meet, be inspired by, recruit or invest in the next generation of wealth creators.

With industry speakers from Barclays and leading UK design agencies, KTN has partnered with the Institute of Directors (IoD 99), IORMA - Global Consumer Commerce Centre and The Manufacturer to offer extensive networking opportunities.

The evening will open at 5:00pm with drinks and the opportunity to see the exhibition followed by short presentations from industry speakers at 6:30pm.

Speakers:

Clive Grinyer, Customer Experience Director at Barclays
Clive is a strong advocate for in-house design teams, having previously set up Samsung’s European design studio, been Head of Design for Orange France Telecom (London and Paris) and headed up design for TAG Mclaren Audio. Clive also previously worked for mutli-national technology company Cisco, innovation consultancy IDEO and was one of the founders of design company Tangerine (along with Sir Jonathan Ive, head of design at Apple).

Kevin McCullagh, Founder, Plan product-service strategists
Kevin’s background spans design, marketing, engineering and social forecasting. His London-based consultancy Plan focuses on product-service strategy for clients including Coca-Cola, Deutsche Telecom, Ford, HP, Lenovo, Mars, Nokia, Orange, 02, P&G, Samsung, Shell, Toyota, Unilever and Yamaha.
