The Small Copper is a brightly-coloured butterfly usually found in sunny places. Its populations have declined by over a third in Scotland over the past decade, so we want to find out more about where this species is found. Use this page to send in your sightings from 2020 – you can submit as many records as you need over the season.
Small Coppers are just slightly larger than a 50p coin when their wings are open, and are rarely seen in large numbers so they are easily missed. Information from sightings can help us understand how their populations are faring, and this information can be used in our conservation work.
