WHY is ECO Stars FREE and VOLUNTARY?
ECO Stars was developed as part of a “Toolkit of Measures” available to Local Councils to improve air quality, and funded by grants from DEFRA. A Council creates a scheme, recruits fleet operators active in its area to join ECO Stars, and the funding pays for TRL to advise on the best practice methods to improve your fleet performance. There are no fixed standards, any changes you make are your choice. The star rating and certificate awarded by ECO Stars is how we confirm to the Council that you are actively engaged in making your business sustainable and participating in the measures to reach their air quality goals.
